Who we are

We're owners for the long haul, not a fund or a flipper.

Mt. Zion Capital is an independent company that buys and runs small businesses and real estate. When we buy a business, we want to take care of what the owner spent years building. We keep the people who work there, look after the customers, and grow it slowly and honestly. We try to do right by everyone involved, whether that's a seller, an employee, or a tenant.

We're local, too, based right here in Union, Kentucky. So you're not dealing with an out-of-state fund or a buyer from three states away. We know the area, we live here, and we're always happy to meet up in person over coffee.

Here's what we do.

Small-business acquisition

We buy established, profitable small businesses from owners who are ready to move on, whether that's retirement or a change of plans. The goal is to keep it running and the team in place, not strip it for parts.

Real estate

We buy and manage houses and commercial buildings, mostly places we can fix up and hold onto. We'd rather improve a property than flip it.

Partnerships

Sometimes the best deal is a partnership. We're glad to team up with operators or other owners when it makes sense for everyone.

Hands-on ownership

We stay involved. We'd rather be hands-on and help run the business day to day than manage it from far away.
